Jon is a 1996 cum laude graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He then went on to Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionsin Provo, Utah where he earned a Masters of Science in Athletic Training. In addition to being a licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer he is also a Board Certified Clinical Specialists in Sports Physical Therapy, an American Physical Therapy Association Certified Clinical Instructor, and a certified examiner for the Board of Certification for Athletic Training. The combination of his education and certifications has led him to work in various settings and specialties.
Jon's background consists of working in the outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing, long term care, and home health settings. He developed and implemented an outreach sports medicine program for several area high schools, and he continues to provide these services today. He has provided community education programs in areas of sports medicine and orthopedics, and is a nationally recognized speaker on the use of modalities in physical therapy. Jon developed a seminar titled "Therapeutic Modalities: An Evidence-Based Approach," which he provides to other rehabilitation professionals across the country. Jon has also had the opportunity to be an invited presenter at The Great Lakes Athletic Training Association Winter Meeting, at Bradley University, Cross Country Education's Rehab Summit, and HomeCEUConnection's Rehab Rally.

Jon is thrilled to be able to provide Kewanee and the surrounding communities with aggressive patient care. He is dedicated to taking the steps needed to return patients to their jobs and daily activities. Jon works closely with all people involved in treating the patient including physicians and case managers. With every patient that Jon treats he strives to restore human performance and produce favorable results.
Jon, his wife Emily, and their three children, Lilly, Josie, and Parker live just outside of Kewanee.
Scott Salisbury, DPT, PT, ATC, CSCS

Scott is a graduate of Western Illinois Universitywhere he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with emphasis in Athletic Training. In addition to being a licensed Certified Athletic Trainer he is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University in 2007.
Scott's background consists of working primarily in the outpatient setting, industrial rehabilitation, and sports medicine outreach to local high schools for the last several years. His experience includes working with athletes of all ages in various different sports and recreational activities, as well as treating the injured worker. He is a Certified Body Fat Tester for the IHSA Wrestling Weight Certification Program. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and active in the orthopedic and occupational health special interest groups. He specializes in orthopedics and treating the injured worker and works closely with employers in the area with return to work programs and injury prevention. He has provided community education programs in areas of sports medicine and orthopedics. Scott has completed several continuing education courses in sports medicine and orthopedics, which include:

Scott is excited to be able to provide physical therapy services to Kewanee, Galva, Stark County and the surrounding communities. He is focused on the need to return patients to their prior level of function as quickly and safely as possible. His experience in the field of sports medicine and orthopedics allows him to assist patients of all ages. Scott resides in Sheffield with his wife, Shelby, and his children Carter and Kate.
April Taylor, PT, DPT
April is a physical therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience as a PT and PTA. She has worked in multiple setting including outpatient, inpatient, long-term care, and home care. April works hard both for and with her patients, always keeping the focus on pain control and return to normal function.
April was born and raised in Kewanee, attending Kewanee High School and Black Hawk College, earning an Associate in Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Associates in Science. April earned her Bachelor's degree at Saint Ambrose University followed with Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy at St. Ambrose University. April is an active member in the American Physical Therapy Association. April is also an active member in the Galva Rotary. April has been working at Kewanee, Galva, and Stark County Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists since 2005.
April resides in Kewanee with her husband, Kurt, and children, Jillian and Aiden.
Miranda Boss, ATC
Certificated Athletic Trainer
Miranda is a certified athletic trainer with a great deal of clinical experience, having provided sports medicine services at Northern Illinois University. Miranda joined our team of dedicated and skilled staff as our Sports Medicine Team Leader, and assists in providing sports medicine outreach to our local high school teams. Miranda enjoys working with patients of all ages and assisting them in their recovery and rehabilitation.
Miranda was born and raised in Galva, Illinois, attending Galva High School and Northern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training. Miranda is currently pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Clarke University.
Miranda currently resides in Aledo with her husband, Nick.
Kelli Rashid, OTR/L
Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist
Kelli received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Occupational Therapy from St. Ambrose University.
Kelli has at least 10 years experience in a variety of settings including: acute care, skilled care, homecare, outpatient, long term care, pediatrics/schools, inpatient rehab, and mental health. Specialties in lymphedema management, geriatrics, hands (with competency in therapeutic modalities), and ergonomics. Implemented lymphedema and ergonomic programs and assisted in managerial duties in previous settings.
Kelli resides in Kewanee with her husband, James.
Christine Weidner, PTA
Chris is a physical therapist assistant with over 10 years of clinical experience as a PTA. She has worked in multiple setting including outpatient, inpatient, long-term care, and home care. Chris is also a member of our industrial medicine team and certified as an industrial medicine specialist. She also is a certified aquatics instructor through the Aquatic and Rehab Institute, Inc. Chris enjoys seeing her patients' quality of life improve as they recover from injury or illness.
Chris was born and raised in Galva, attending Galva High School and Black Hawk College, earning an Associate's degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Chris and her family reside near Buda, Illinois.
Tera Rothzen
Cardiac Rehab Specialist
Tera Rothzen is our Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science and fitness. She has experience working in the cardiac rehab setting, designing exercise prescriptions for those patients recovering from cardiac events. She additionally holds her AFAA group fitness certification and enjoys teaching kickboxing, weight training and aqua toning classes. She is currently studying for her ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist exam. Tera's goal is for her patients to return to their regular activities following their cardiac event not only through exercise but also educating her patients on adapting a new heart-healthy lifestyle.
She enjoys spending her free moments with her family, walking her dog, creating scrapbooks, baking and shopping at Target. She and her husband Kevin just moved to Oneida, IL where they enjoy working on their recently purchased home and having fun with their son Zackary and family dog, Addicus.
Mike Gavin, BS
Exercise Physiologist/Cardiac Rehab Specialist
Mike graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in the summer of 2008. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. He has been working at Kewanee PTRS since 2009 as the Cardiac Rehab Specialist. His main goal is to return patients to a level of activity that is healthy to them and increases the longevity of their life.
Mike enjoys fishing, hunting, working on cars and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears. He currently resides in Kewanee.
Jena Lain, PTA
Jena graduated from Black Hawk College with her Associate's degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She has been working in the outpatient setting since December of 2006. She also has experience working in long term, in patient and homecare settings. Jena enjoys working with her patients so that they both can see the benefits of their hard work together. It is her primary focus to ensure that her patients are able to return to the activities that the patient previously enjoyed.
Jena resides in Kewanee with her daughter, Keely. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her daughter's sporting events.
